The Ecotopian Toolkit — "Tools for Multispecies Flourishing"

Summary
The Ecotopian Toolkit is an ongoing initiative that takes a utopian approach to combat feelings of helplessness and apathy that often arise in the face of climate change. The project invites artists from all disciplines to create and share arts-driven tools through public-facing workshops and events.
In 2024, the project partnered with the Morris Arboretum & Gardens, presenting all five projects outdoors (fortunately, the weather cooperated!). The wayfinding and interpretive text needed to be low-impact, quick to set up, switch out, and break down. To achieve this, I designed simple signage in keeping with the upbeat tone and utilitarian motifs, mounted on garden stakes for easy installation and removal. The minimal signage informed casual garden visitors about the special activities and provided additional context for each tool and the overall project.
